Mondo Duplantis Destroys Olympic Medalist Sam Kendricks' Pole Vault Challenge

Leave it to Mondo Duplantis to take a challenge to the next level.

The pole vault national high school record holder's brother, Andreas, posted a video today that shows the Lafayette High, Louisiana junior clearing 18-0.5/5.50m on 10 out of 11 attempts over a span of 28 minutes. Duplantis' PR is 18-10.25 /5.75m.

The stunt is a nod to Olympic bronze medalist Sam Kendricks of the United States, who has posted several "pole vault challenge" videos on YouTube. In December of 2014, the former Ole Miss star posted a video of himself jumping 18-0.5/5.50m five times in 30 minutes.

In Duplantis' video, he makes two bars in a row, misses his third attempt, then clears eight bars in a row.

About a month after this video was posted, Kendricks set a PR of 19-2.75 at the 2015 National Pole Vault Summit

Duplantis is no stranger to viral video pole vault stunts. Last January, he posted this video of himself clearing 10-0 from a hoverboard.
