Men’s Basketball Faces Nevada In Nationally Televised Game

Game Notes

RENO, Nev.—The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior basketball team looks to change its fortune when it faces Nevada in a nationally televised game, Saturday, Jan. 30. Tip-off is 7:05 p.m. PT (5:05 p.m. HT) at the Lawlor Events Center and the game will be televised live on ESPNU.

The Rainbow Warriors (9-12, 2-6 WAC) will be looking to end a variety of losing skids when they meet the Wolf Pack. The 'Bows have lost three in a row to fall into a tie for seventh place in the Western Athletic Conference standings with Idaho. UH's last loss—an 83-60 setback at San Jose State—dropped UH to 0-4 on the road so far this season. Meanwhile, the 'Bows have lost seven straight to Nevada and will also be seeking their first-ever win in Reno, where they are winless in 12 all-time visits. UH will rely heavily on leading scoring Roderick Flemings who is averaging 15.0 ppg this year. The senior wing is averaging 19.7 ppg in the last three games and scored a team-high 19 points in UH's last outing at San Jose State

Nevada (12-8, 4-3 WAC), meanwhile, should be well-rested having not played since a 87-77 road loss at Fresno State last Saturday. Nevada currently sits in fourth place in the league standings. The Wolf Pack are led by all-WAC forward Luke Babbitt who averages 21.5 ppg and 10.0 rpg.
