Men’s Golf In 11th After Round 2 Of John Burns

Round 2 Results

SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team is currently in 11th place after the second round of the John A. Burns Intercollegiate, Thursday, at the Leilehua Golf Course. The Warriors dropped one spot from the previous round, carding a 297 (293-297=590).
 
Individually, two Warriors are in the top-ten. Freshman Cory Oride and sophomore #T.J. Kua# are both tied for ninth at four-under par, 140. Oride carded his second round of 70 in the tournament, while Kua shaved two strokes off his first-round score to card a 69.
 
Also competing for UH are junior Kamden Brakel (74-80=154/T73rd), sophomore Jared Sawada (78-81=159/81st), and sophomore Pono Calip (85-78=163/83rd).
 
Participating as individuals are freshmen Henry Park (75-70=145/T34th) and Alex Chu (76-79=155/T77th).
 
Leading the team-field is California at 18-under (278-280=558), with its own Stephen Hale still leading individually at eight-under par (65-71=136). Cal will have a two-stroke lead over defending tournament champion Texas A&M going into the final round, while Hale will look to hold on to a one-stroke lead.
 
The tournament concludes Friday with the final round beginning at 8:00 am.
