Baseball 'Bows Drop 7-3 Game To No. 10 Oregon State

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow baseball team (0-2) fell to the No. 10 Oregon State Beavers (2-0) in front of a crowd of 2,828 at Les Murakami Stadium Saturday. Matt Sisto took the loss, allowing six runs in 5.2 innings while Tanner Robles got the win for the Beavers.
 
Kolten Wong led the way for UH, going 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI. Greg Garcia added a 1-for-3 game with two runs while Colin Bennett hit his first home run as a Rainbow.
 
Hawai'i again jumped out in the first inning as Wong hit a RBI-double to left-center, giving the 'Bows a quick 1-0 edge. Bennett then hit an opposite field blast to open the second inning, extending UH's lead to 2-0.
 
But the Beavers came up big in the top of the third, scoring four runs on six consecutive hits, giving OSU the 4-2 advantage. Three straight walks started a three-run rally for the Beavers in the top of the sixth, extending their lead to 7-2.
 
Kevin Macdonald was able to sacrifice in a run in the bottom of the sixth to cut it back to 7-3.
 
The two teams will continue the series tomorrow at 1:05 p.m, before closing out the series with a 5:05 p.m. game on Monday, Feb. 22.
