Men’s Tennis Returns Home To Face Nationally Ranked Louisville

HONOLULU – The No. 41 University of Hawaii men's tennis team will play its first home match in nearly two months when it faces No. 14 Louisville on Wednesday, March 17. First serve is 3:00 p.m. at the UH Tennis Complex and fans attending the match will receive free slices of Papa John's pizza, while supplies last.

The Rainbow Warriors (7-5) last played at home on January 18, a 5-2 win over UC Santa Barbara. Since then, UH has played nine straight road matches, going 4-5 during that stretch. Five of the last six matches that UH has played have been against nationally ranked teams, including UCLA and California who are among the top 20 teams in the nation.

The Rainbow Warriors are coming off a heartbreaking road loss against No. 69 Oklahoma State and are looking to rebound at home. However, No. 14 Louisville (13-3) will provide a stiff challenge with three players ranked in singles—No. 34 Austen Childs, No. 54 Simon Childs and No. 122 Chidi Gabriel— and the 18th ranked duo of Austen and Simon Childs,.

Despite the close match against Oklahoma State, the Rainbow Warriors dominated in doubles play by sweeping the competition on all three courts. Sophomore Leo Rosenberg continued his remarkable singles play and improved to a perfect 11-0 in the season after winning four straight matches in UH's last road trip.

After the home match against No. 14 Louisville, the Rainbow Warriors will return to action in April with three straight conference home matches—April 2 against No. 22 Fresno State; April 3 against Utah State; and April 4 against No. 58 Idaho at the UH Tennis Complex.
