Box Score

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow baseball team (7-9) dropped the series finale to the Southern California Trojans (9-8) 9-0 in front of a crowd of 2,910 at Les Murakami Stadium Monday. Zach Gallagher (0-1) took the loss for UH while Chad Smith (1-2) got the win for USC.

Greg Garcia went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk to lead Hawai'i. Matt Roquemore and Kevin Macdonald both added 1-for-3 games.

Gallagher pitched well for the first three innings in his first Division I start, holding USC off the scoreboard. But the Trojans got to him in the fourth inning as Ricky Oropesa hit a two-run homer to start the scoring. USC added another run in the fourth, then plated four in the fifth to go ahead 7-0.

The Trojans later added runs in the seventh and ninth innings, making the final score 9-0.

The Rainbows will close out its long homestand with a four-game series vs. Air Force starting Friday, March 19, at 6:35 p.m.
