Water Polo Hangs Tough With No. 1 USC In Exhibition Play

HONOLULU – The fifth-ranked University of Hawai'i women's water polo team played No. 1 USC tough on Wednesday afternoon, dropping an exhibition match 9-7 at Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex on the UH campus.
 
The Rainbow Wahine held the Trojans to just two second half goals and scored five goals to cut into the lead. USC led 7-2 at halftime, before the strong second half.
 
Overall, UH had a balanced scoring attack, with Monika Eggens scoring two goals to lead the team. Leonie Van Der Molen, Monique Wilson, Amarens Genee, Dagmar Genee and Saara Majuri each scored one goal.
 
USC was led by Kami Craig and Alexandria Kiss, who each scored two goals. Kally Lucas, Forel Davies, nadia Dan, Nicolina McCall and Kristen Dronberger each scored one goal.
 
The Rainbow Wahine return to action next week against San Diego State in MPSF action on Wednesday, March 24. UH will also face UC San Diego and then travel to Arizona to take on Arizona State.
