- Among the UH returnees is senior wide receiver Greg Salas, a 2009 all-WAC first-team pick and semifinalist for the Fred Belitnikoff Award as the nation's top receiver. Salas finished fourth in the nation in receiving yards per game (122.3) and sixth in receptions per game (8.2) in 2009.
- The Warriors won four of their final five games last season and were one win shy of earning their fourth straight bowl bid.
- UH finished in the top three nationally in passing offense for the 10th time in the last 11 years after averaging 337.0 ypg in 2009. UH also finished 14th in total offense (437.5), ranking in the Top 20 for the ninth time in the last 11 years.
- The Warriors enter their 32nd season in the Western Athletic Conference, the longest standing member of the league. UH owns a 121-118-3 all-time record in league play dating back to 1979.
- UH loses 29 letterwinners and 10 starters (6 offense, 4 defense) from last year's team.
- Among the starters to replace are all-WAC linebacker Blaze Soares, second-team all-WAC tackle Aaron Kia and center John Estes, a three-time all-WAC selection and Rimington Award finalist who started an NCAA-record 54 straight games during his career.
