Men's Golf To Compete In U.S. Intercollegiate

Tournament Notes

The University of Hawai'i men's golf team travels to Palo Alto, Calif. to compete in the 42nd annual U.S. Intercollegiate, April 11 through 13, at the Stanford Golf Course.

The Warriors will face a 20-team field featuring five of the top-10 teams in the nation: host No. 2 Stanford, No. 3 Washington, No. 4 Oregon, No. 6 UCLA, and No. 8 Arizona State. Rounding out the field are California, Denver, Fresno State, Lamar, Long Beach State, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Diego State, San Francisco, San Jose State, UC Davis, UC Irvine, USC, and Washington State.

Participants will play a total of 54 holes, 18 holes each day, and compete on a par-70 course checking in at 6,727 yards.

Adding to the prestige of this year's event is the announcement that the individual medalist will earn an automatic exemption  in the PGA Tour's 2010 Reno-Tahoe Open, taking place July 15 through 18 at the Montreux Golf & Country Club.

This will be the first time the Warriors have competed in the U.S. Intercollegiate in the last ten years. Washington is the tournament's defending team champion with UW's Nick Taylor winning the 2009 individual title.
