Rainbow Sailor Qualify For Team Racing Nationals

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – The University of Hawai`i coed sailing team won its final race against USC to finish second at the PCCSC Team Racing Championships, held April 10-11. With that finish the Rainbows earned a spot in the ICSA Team Race National Championship in June.

UH and earned its first berth to the team race nationals since 2005. Host Stanford won the regatta and also earned a berth to the nationals to be held June 1-3 in Madison, Wisc.

Sailing for the Rainbows were Tahnee Allman,Darla Baldwin, Zachary Hester, Lani Johnson, William Petersen, Hannah Tuson-Turner and Ryan Wild.

The coed team now returns home to Honolulu to aim for a berth in the dinghy nationals when it hosts the PCCSC Dinghy Chamionships, April 17-18 at Keehi Lagoon.
