Women’s Basketball Signs Evans To National Letter Of Intent

HONOLULU – University of Hawai'i women's basketball head coach Dana Takahara-Dias announced today the signing of Keianna Evans to a national letter of intent. Wednesday was the first day of the spring signing period for women's basketball.

Evans comes to UH from Kaskaskia Junior College in Illinois, and will have two years of eligibility remaining. Evans averaged 15.3 points and 2.4 assists per game last season.

Evans is a 5-foot-7 point guard and originally from Fayetteville, N.C. where she attended Trinity Christian High School. She was named to the Great Rivers All-Conference Team and all-Region XXIV team. Her sophomore season during the conference tournament, she averaged 20 points, eight rebounds and five steals per game.

UH signed Sydney Haydel during the early signing period in November; giving the Rainbow Wahine two newcomers as of now for next season. Sydney is from Harvard-Westlake High School and led her team to the Division IV CIF state championship this past season. She is a first team all-CIF and firs team all-Mission League player.
