Track & Field Concludes Long Road Trip; Keenan Wins Discus

Final Results

NORWALK, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team concluded its 11-day road trip by competing in the Beach Invitational Saturday at Cerritos College.

Sophomore TeRina Keenan captured the discus competition with a throw of 164-2 (50.05m) while also placing ninth in the shot put after a heave of 44-2.5 (13.47m). Junior Careena Onosai threw a seasonal-best in the discus with a mark of 153-1 (46.67m).

Freshman Cecilia Durocher posted seasonal-bests in both hurdle events, clocking in at 15.04 in the 100-hurdles and 1:07.78 in the 400-hurdles.

Other notable performances was junior Anika Borden's 10th place in the hammer throw (146-10/44.76m); junior Karen Guravska (141-9/43.20m) and sophomore Lauren Cutler (141-7/43.16m) placing third and fourth, respectively in the javelin; and sophomore Madara Apine's fourth place in the triple jump (39-2.25/11.94m).

The Rainbow Wahine return to Honolulu to host the Sunset Meet #4, Saturday, May 1 at the Clarence T.C. Ching Field.
