Rainbow Sailors Bow Out Of ICSA Team Race Championship

MADISON, Wis. – The University of Hawai`i coed sailing team concluded its season with a third place finish in the consolation round of the ICSA Team Race Championship at Lake Mendota.

After weather woes grounded the Rainbow Wahine sailors in their national event earlier in the week, the coed team was able to take to the waters this weekend, but didn't find much luck. A field of 14 teams were split into two groups on the first day to compete in round robin action.  On Saturday the Rainbows struggled in its group, failing to win any head-to-head action and finishing the day with an 0-6 record. UH was delegated to the consolation round on Sunday, but fared much better, going 3-2 on the day and finishing third among six teams.

Competing for UH were Tahnee Allman, Darla Baldwin, Lani Johnson, Jaclyn McLoughlin, Hannah Tuson-Turner, Zachary Hester, William Petersen and Ryan Wild. The three-day championship concludes tomorrow as eight remaining teams vie for the title.
