Shelton Tang Resigns From Men’s Volleyball Coaching Staff

HONOLULU – University of Hawai'i men's volleyball head coach Charlie Wade announced that assistant coach Shelton Tang has resigned but will continue with the team as video coordinator. A search for his replacement will begin immediately.

“An opportunity arose that I couldn't pass up,” Tang said. “I've decided to return to my engineering job but at the same time still be able to continue as volunteer video coordinator. I'm appreciative of the opportunity to be a part of Charlie's inaugural staff and look forward to still be involved with the Warrior volleyball program.”

“I want to thank Shelton for his contribution to the program this year and look forward to having him continue helping us in our quest for a National Championship,” Wade said. “Shelton agreed to join us late last year and really helped us out. I totally support him in returning to his career as an electrical engineer and understand he has been presented with an opportunity he can't pass up.”

Prior to joining Wade's staff last fall, Tang was the volunteer coach and video coordinator for the Rainbow Wahine volleyball team from 1994-2008.
