Rainbow Wahine Golf In Fourth At Rose City Collegiate; Britos In Second

Day 1 Results

AURORA, Ore. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team shot a 295 in the second round of the Rose City Collegiate, Monday, at the Langdon Farms Golf Club. This is the first tournament since October of 2007 in which the Rainbow Wahine have carded a round under 300. They currently sit in fourth place with a 602 two-round total (307-295).
 
Sophomore Ka'ili Britos is in second place at even-par (144), just one shot back of the leader. After beginning the day with a 75, Britos fired a second-round 69, shaving four strokes off of her previous career-low round of 73. She was the only player in the entire tournament to card a round under 70.
 
Following closely behind Britos is senior Brittany Bomar, tying for sixth place at five-over par (75-74=149). Bomar also posted a career-low round, 74.
 
Also competing for UH is sophomore Brigitte Baker (79-76=155) who is tied for 28th, along with junior Erika Lundberg (80-76=156) and freshman Charlee Kapiioho (78-78=156) who are both tied for 34th place.
 
Leading the team standings are North Texas (295-303=598) and co-host Oregon State (302-296=598) in a tie for first at 22-over par, followed by co-host Portland State at 23-over par (299-300=599). Individually, Whitney French of Oregon State leads at one-under, 143 (71-72).
 
The tournament concludes Tuesday with the third and final round.
