The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team will participate in the Western Athletic Conference Championships, Saturday, Oct. 30 at Virgil Phillips Farm County Park in Moscow, Idaho.
The women's 5K race begins at 10:00 a.m. MT (6:00 a.m. HT). Rainbow Wahine are seeded seventh among nine teams. Idaho is seeded first, followed by defending champion New Mexico State and Utah State.
UH is led by senior
Ashley Aitken, who has a seasonal and personal best time of 17:10 at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational, in which she placed fifth overall. The two-time WAC Athlete of the Week placed 36
th overall at last year's WAC Championships.

UH at the WAC Championships: The Rainbow Wahine placed seventh at last year's WAC Championships, its highest finish since 2004. UH's highest finish at the meet was fourth, twice, in 2000 and 2001. In 2001, Cheryl Smith and Casey McGuire-Turcotte placed 1-2 in the meet, which was held at the Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course.
What's Next: UH will compete in the NCAA West Regionals, Nov. 13, in Springfield, Ore.
