Busy Weekend For Swimming And Diving

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's and women's swimming and diving teams fly out this week for their first road trips of the season. Swimming heads to Long Beach, Calif. for Arena Invitational, hosted by UC San Diego at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool. Diving will be participating in the Wildcat Diving Invitational, hosted by the No. 7 Arizona Wildcats in Tucson, Ariz.

The Arena Invitational will begin on Thursday, Nov. 18 and commence until Saturday, Nov. 20. There will be 10 men's squads, including Arizona State, Stanford and UC Santa Barbara representing the Pac-10. The women's competition will include 20 teams, with 2010 national runner-up Stanford in the mix.
 
In 2009 at the Arena Invitational (formerly called the Toshiba Classic) the Rainbow Warriors finished second out of 14 teams with 1,109 points behind first-place Stanford. The Rainbow Wahine finished eighth out of 24 teams with 313 points.
 
The Third Annual Wildcat Diving Invitational runs from Friday, Nov. 19 until Sunday, Nov. 21 at the Michael Kasser Pool in the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center. There will be 88 divers competing from 18 different schools including fellow WAC opponents Fresno State, Boise State, San Jose State and Utah. Pac-10 representatives Stanford and USC will also be competing.
 
Last week UH divers competed in a dual-meet against Arizona State and grabbed one first placed finish by sophomore Hannah Bocksnick on the three meter board.
