Men’s Basketball Concludes Home Stand This Wednesday

Game Notes

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team wraps up its season-opening five-game home stand when it hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday, Nov. 24. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The Rainbow Warriors are coming off an 83-69 win over Central Arkansas on last Friday. At 4-0, UH is off to its best start since the 2004-05 season. They have done it in impressive fashion, winning three of their four games by double-digits.

UH boasts a balanced attack with numerous newcomers making an immediate impact. Still, it's the UH's senior leaders who continue to lead the way. Forward Bill Amis leads the team in scoring (15.8 ppg), rebounding (6.8 rpg), field goal percentage (.643) and blocks (7), while Hiram Thompson is contributing 14.0 ppg and 4.0 apg while shooting 60 percent on three-pointers .

Hawai'i will face its second straight opponent from the state of Arkansas in the Golden Lions, who qualified for the NCAA Tournament last year out of the SWAC. Following its game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, UH will head to the road for the first time this season with games at Cal Poly (Dec. 1) and Brigham Young (Dec. 4).
