Hawaii State Championships: St. Louis boys, Punahou girls claim state titles MileSplit Staff May 17, 2009

Trevor Mau set a state meet record with his leap of 23'8" in the preliminary flight of the long jump as his St. Louis School squad also celebrated winning the state track team title at Ke'eau High School. The boys throwing events were some of the most competitive events of the meet with five competitors over 150 feet in the discus and three over 55 feet in the shot put. Cauncy Makainai of Kailua High School was a winner in bohth events with marks of 156'11" in the discus and 58'8.75" in the shot put. Bailey Massenburg of King Kekaulike High School was a double winner in the girls' distance races with a 4:49.82 victory in the 1500 meter and came back later to win the 800 meter run in 2:18.14. The top individual performer for the girls team champions from the Punahou School was 300 meter hurdles state champion Julia Brand (46.25). HHSAA State Outdoor T&F Championships - Complete Results
