The decisions from individual Sections are rolling in, as areas of the State formulate what competition may look like this Fall. We expect to hear more from around the State in the near future. Section 11, Suffolk County, has decided to postpone all Sports until January 2021. The move comes just two weeks after announcing they would hold Fall Season Sports, despite the move from Section 8 to cancel. However, High Risk Sports being pushed, including Football, may have influenced that reversal.
Section 11 joins Section 8 and Section 9 as the only Section's to generate a wholesale push of Sports in the Fall. Section 1 has delayed the start of the Season by one additional week, while NYSPHSAA made the announcement earlier in the Summer that Interscholastic Sports could not begin practicing until the Week of September 21st. Section 2 will operate as normal, however ending the Season before the Sectional Championships.
