Taylor Ewert Rolls In NCAA Debut, Arkansas Women Win

Beavercreek (OH) gaduate and Gatorade National Track and Field Athlete of the Year Taylor Ewert got her NCAA career off to a rousing start on Saturday, winning her first collegiate race at the SEC Preview in Baton Rouge. 

Ewert ran 16:53.70 for 5K, setting a new lifetime best for the distance as she paced the Razorbacks, the defending NCAA champions in cross country, to a perfect 15 points over a ranked Ole Miss and LSU, Mississippi State and Texas A&M. 

Freshman Corie Smith, a graduate of Buchanan (CA), was fifth overall and former Keller (TX) standout Isabel Van Camp, a sophomore, was ninth. Freshman London Culbreath, a graduate of McKinney North, did not compete.
