Final Results
RENO, Nev. – The University of Hawai'i women's cross country team placed seventh at the 2009 Western Athletic Conference Championships, Saturday, at the Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. The finish was the highest for UH since 2004.
For the Rainbow Wahine, Jessica Forrester was the top finisher with a 24th place finish on the 5K course. The senior crossed the finish line in 20:33 followed closely by Liisa Cushing, who placed 31st at 20:47. Ashley Aitken took 36th with a time of 20:58.
Other UH participants include Mariana Monasi (21:09/41st), Tava Tedesco (21:19/46th), Ashlee Jimenez (21:53/59th) and Shelby Yoakum (22:55/66th).
New Mexico State captured the team title with Aggie sisters Courtney and Camille Schultz taking first and second, respectively. The Aggies totaled 29 points followed by Utah State (70), Nevada (76), Idaho (99), Fresno State (135), Boise State (151), Hawai'i (170), San Jose State (216), and Louisiana Tech (295).
Next up for the Rainbow Wahine is the NCAA West Regionals, Nov. 14, in Springfield, Ore.
