LOS ANGELES – The No. 42 University of Hawai`i men's tennis team blanked No. 37 South Florida, 4-0, on the second day of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend Sunday at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. The Rainbow Warriors improved to 4-1 on the season with the win.
After losing to No. 4 and host UCLA on the first day of the event, which serves as the qualifiers for the 2010 ITA National Team Indoor Championships, the Rainbow Warriors bounced back against the Bulls (1-3) with a dominant win. The Rainbow Warriors won the doubles point, then clinched the win with three decisive singles victories. UH also led in two of the three unfinished singles matches.

Leo Rosenberg were victorious to give UH the first point of the day.
Andreas Weber got UH started strong in singles with an impressive 6-2, 6-1 win over Peter Frank at the No. 2 position. Tweedt followed with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Mark Oljaca on the No. 3 court and Rosenberg tallied the clinching fourth point for UH with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Yannick Yoshizawa on court No. 4. The win was UH's first over a ranked squad this year.
The Rainbow Warriors will remain in California for a trio of dual matches, beginning with a match against San Francisco on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 12:00 p.m. PT (10:00 a.m. HT).
