HONOLULU – University of Hawai'i sophomore attacker Monika Eggens was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Mikasa Women's Water Polo Player of the Week, for the week of Jan. 25 – Feb. 1 announced today by the conference office. It is the first career honor for Eggens.

Eggens helped lead the third-ranked Rainbow Wahine to a 4-0 record at the Northern California Invitational this past weekend, as she totaled 12 goals, including three hat tricks in the four games.

The Pitt Meadows, British Columbia native, had four goals against Pacific and three goals against No. 15 UC Santa Barbara to open the week.

Against No. 14 UC Davis on the final day, Eggens scored twice and would finish off the tournament with another hat trick against Cal State East Bay.

Eggens and the Rainbow Wahine return to action Wednesday, Feb. 3 against No. 4 California at 7 p.m. PT, in Berkeley, Calif.
