Women's Water Polo Faces Top Contenders At Stanford Invitational

The University of Hawai'i women's water polo team (4-1, 0-1 MPSF) continues its road trip this weekend at the Stanford Invitational in Stanford, Calif. The team will play two matches on each day beginning Saturday, Feb. 6 and Sunday, Feb. 7.

UH opens play against No. 9 Arizona State at 10:50 a.m. PT (8:50 a.m. HT) and will conclude the night facing off against No. 5 UCLA at 6:30 p.m. PT (4:30 p.m. HT). Last season the Rainbow Wahine upset the defending national champions, 13-12 at the Stanford Invitational for their first ever victory over the Bruins.

UH continues the tournament Sunday morning in a critical face-off against No. 4 California at 9:10 a.m. PT (7:10 a.m. HT). After a loss on Feb. 3, this will be the Rainbow Wahine's second meeting against the Golden Bears this season.

All final matches on Sunday will be determined by what each team places in their designated brackets. UH is in the 'A Bracket' alongside UCLA, California and ASU, while top contenders No. 1 Stanford and No. 2 USC along with No. 7 San Jose State and No. 6 Michigan compete in the 'B Bracket'.
