Final Results
KOHALA COAST, Hawai'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team finished their first spring season tournament, the Amer Ari Invitational, in 18th place. Playing at the Mauna Lani Resort North Course, the Warriors carded rounds of 311, 302, and 310 for a 923 total.
Top-finisher for UH was sophomore #T.J. Kua# who tied for 21st place at four-over par. Kua played consistently well throughout the tournament, carding two rounds of 74 and a final round of 72, and sinking a total of 12 birdies.
Participating as individuals were freshmen
Alex Chu (81-82-81=244/T108th),
Daniel Koge (84-87-80=251/116th), and
Henry Park (96-87-85=268/120th).
Winning the team title was Stanford who finished at two-over par (297-283-286=866). At the end of Round 2, Stanford was two strokes back of Washington but was able to take the top spot by carding a final-round 286 (-2).
Winning individually was Bobby Hudson of Texas (70-73-66=209). Hudson, who was in a five-way tie for first at the end of Round 1, fired an impressive 66 (-6) on the round to finish at seven-under par, just one stroke ahead of the second place finisher.
Up next, the Warriors return home to host the John A. Burns Intercollegiate, Feb. 17 through 19, at the Leilehua Golf Course.
