Men's Basketball Gets Ready For Rematch With La Tech

Game Notes

Brandon Adams grabs a rebound.
The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team heads back on the road for a pair of Western Athletic Conference contests, beginning with a game at Louisiana Tech on Saturday, Feb. 13. Tip-off is 7:00 p.m. CT (3:00 HT).

UH (9-14, 2-8 WAC) is currently on a season-long five-game skid, including a 61-51 home setback to Fresno State on Saturday, Feb. 6. That loss put UH in a tie for eighth place in the WAC with Boise State. The Rainbow Warriors look to end their losing streak on the road, where they have yet to win in five tries this year. UH, however, came close in its last road outing, a 66-60 decision at Nevada on Jan. 30.

UH will now face two of the top three teams in the conference in Louisiana Tech (19-5, 7-3 WAC) and New Mexico State (15-8, 8-2 WAC). The 'Bows went toe-to-toe with both teams in Honolulu last month, losing on a buzzer beater to the Aggies, 71-69, and battling the Bulldogs to the end before losing 65-60. Senior Roderick Flemings averaged 20.0 ppg and 8.0 rpg in the those two tight losses and has been the bright spot during UH's current slide.

Louisiana Tech enters the game having lost two of three games since their meeting with UH. Both losses have come at the hands of New Mexico State, including a last-second 70-68 loss in Las Cruces on Monday, Feb. 8. That loss put the Bulldogs in third place in the WAC, a game behind New Mexico State and Utah State.
