Men's Basketball Takes On New Mexico State In Road Contest

Game Notes

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team seeks its first road win of the year when it faces New Mexico State Monday, Feb. 15 at the Pan American Center. Tip-off is 7:00 p.m. MT (4:00 HT) and the game will be televised live on KFVE-TV.

UH (9-15, 2-9 WAC) had its losing streak extended to six games after falling at Louisiana Tech, 66-60, on Saturday night. It was the second straight road game that UH fell agonizingly short of a road upset. The Rainbow Warriors, who are 0-6 on the road this year, fell by the identical score at Nevada on Jan. 30. UH is currently in eighth place in the Western Athletic Conference standings, a half game ahead of Boise State and 1.5 games behind Idaho. Hiram Thompson scored a team-high 14 points in UH's last game, while playing all 40 minutes.

UH now faces a New Mexico State squad that is in a race for the league title. The Aggies (15-9, 8-3) are tied for second in the league standings with Louisiana Tech. New Mexico State started UH's current slide with a 71-69 win in Honolulu on Jan. 21 after Jahmar Young hit the game-winning shot with 0.8 seconds remaining. Young is tied for third in the league at 21.0 ppg.
