Hou Ties For Fifth At Peg Barnard Invite; 'Bows Finish In Ninth

Final Results

STANFORD, Calif. – Senior golfer Corie Hou tied for fifth place at the Peg Barnard Invitational, Sunday. Playing on the very challenging Stanford Golf Course, Hou carded rounds of 73 and 77 for an eight-over, 150. For the fourth consecutive tournament, Hou led the University of Hawai'i, earning the best finish of any Rainbow Wahine so far this season.
 
UH finished in ninth place with a 634 total (313-321). Contributing to this score along with Hou were freshman Ka'ili Britos (77-80=157/T27th), junior Brittany Bomar (80-81=161/T41st), freshman Brigitte Baker (83-83=166/T50th), and senior Erin Matsuoka (87-84=171/57th).
 
Host Stanford (304-292=596) captured the team title, edging out first-round leader California by just one stroke. Cal had an eight-stroke lead going in to the final round, but the Cardinal was able to pull ahead by firing a 292 on the round.
 
Sharing individual medalist honors were Sally Watson of Stanford and Joanne Lee of Cal. Both women carded an impressive two-over, 144.
 
Next up for the Rainbow Wahine is the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational, March 8 through 9, in San Jose, Calif.
