Game Notes
HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team faces Louisiana Tech on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center, as the team returns from a three-game road trip and holds its annual Pink Zone game.
UH will be showing its dedication to breast cancer awareness by wearing pink and is encouraging fans to wear pink to the game. The Rainbow Wahine, along with the UH marketing staff will be throwing out pink shirts to fans throughout the game.
The Rainbow Wahine enter the game with a 9-17 overall record and a 3-10 WAC mark. UH is coming off a three-game road trip where it went 0-3. Louisiana Tech carries a 17-6 overall record and an 8-3 conference mark.
WBCA Pink Zone Game
Tables will be set up on the concourse for donations and information provided. The money collected at the Pink Zone game will be donated to the Hawaii Chapter of the American Cancer Society. The majority of the funds raised each year by our local chapter stays in Hawai'i for cancer programs and services for our community. The tables will have a pink table cloth and provide educational information from the American Cancer Society focusing on breast cancer. Anyone making a donation will be given a ribbon to tie onto a large wire ribbon that symbolizes the "fight for the cure". Each tied on ribbon shows support for the cause.
Doubleheader Deal Available Saturday
Fans with a ticket to the UH men's basketball game against Cal Poly on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 8 p.m. will receive free admission to the women's basketball game against Louisiana Tech on Saturday at 5 p.m. UH will not clear the arena between the two games, so fans attending the women's game will be invited to stay for the men's game but will be asked to move to unoccupied seats in the upper level. Beginning at halftime of the women's contest, only tickets to the men's game will be available for sale.
