Men’s Basketball Wraps Up Home Schedule This Week

Game Notes

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai`i men's basketball team hosts its final two home games of the season this week beginning with a matchup against Western Athletic Conference leader Utah State on Thursday, Feb. 25. Tip-off is 7:05 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center. 
 
The 'Bows (9-17, 2-10 WAC) are battling for a spot in next month's WAC Tournament in Reno, Nev., and an in a desperate need of a win after dropping its eighth straight game on Saturday, a 102-89 non-conference loss to Cal Poly. With four league games remaining—two home and two away—UH is currently tied for eighth place in the WAC along with Boise State. The 'Bows will again look to senior Roderick Flemings who leads the team at 16.7 ppg and 6.3 rpg. The 6-7 Flemings, the reigning WAC Player of the Week, is coming off a record-setting 39 point performance in UH's loss to Cal Poly.
 
Utah State (22-6, 11-2 WAC) enters the game on a 12-game win streak and in sole possession of first place in the WAC. The Aggies, who have defeated the 'Bows in each of the last three meetings, are coming off a pair of home wins against Louisiana Tech (67-61) and Wichita State (68-58).
 
Following its game versus Utah State, UH will face Nevada on “Senior Night,” Saturday, Feb. 27. The home finale will mark the last home appearance of five seniors—Brandon Adams, Petras Balocka, Paul Campbell, Flemings and Adhar Mayen.
