HONOLULU – The sixth-ranked University of Hawai'i women's water polo team returns to California, this week in Southern California, to face No. 2 USC on Feb. 25 and to participate in the UC Irvine Invitational Feb. 27-28.
UH plays USC in its second Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match of the season on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. PT. After No. 4 California defeated then No. 3 UH 7-4 on Feb. 3, the Rainbow Wahine have remained 0-1 in the conference.
The Rainbow Wahine are scheduled to face tournament host UC Irvine for their first match of the weekend at the UC Irvine Invitational beginning Saturday, Feb. 27 at 12:45 p.m.. All other opponents will be seeded according to wins and losses. Other contenders in UH's bracket include No. 3 California, No. 2 USC, No. 15 UC Davis, No. 10 San Jose State, and Long Beach State.
The championship match will be played on Feb. 28 at the Anteater Aquatics Complex at 5:15 p.m. P T (3:15 p.m. HT).
