LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The No. 6 University of Hawai`i women's water polo team dropped its second Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match today to second-ranked USC, 14-7. The Rainbow Wahine are now 5-5 overall and 0-2 MPSF.
USC reached a comfortable lead by first quarter, outscoring UH 3-1. The Rainbow Wahine played catch-up in the second quarter, thrashing in two goals but the Trojans drove in three over UH, holding a 6-3 lead at halftime.
In the second half UH continued to fall short to USC. The Rainbow Wahine scored a pair of goals in the third quarter but could not match the Trojan's five goals. By the fourth quarter, UH lagged behind USC 11-5.

Carmen Eggens scored on a penalty shot for UH. Despite the two goals, the Rainbow Wahine could not recover the shortfall and fell to the Trojans 14-7.

Amarens Genee led the Rainbow Wahine with two goals each.
Next UH enters the UC Irvine Invitational (Feb. 27-28) this weekend to take on many top contenders. The Rainbow Wahine open play against tournament host UC Irvine on Friday, Feb. 27 at 12:45 p.m. PT (10:45 p.m. HT).
