Men’s Swimming & Diving Stays In Second At CUSA Championships

Day 3 Results

HOUSTON – The University of Hawai'i men's swimming and diving team continued to hold onto second place at the Conference USA Championships on Friday, held at the CRWC Natatorium on the campus of the University of Houston.
 
UH began the day with a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team of Ilia Reyes, Sean Reilly, Davis Kane and Mark Higley finished with a time of 1:20.05.
 
In the 400-yard IM, Colin Coombs finished fourth with a time of 4:04.04 and in the 100-yard butterfly, Luca Mazzurana won his second gold medal at the championships, finishing in a time of 48.49.
 
UH finished second and third in the 3-meter diving final, with Douglas Cohen placing second with a time of 335.50 and Thomas Rugg finished third with a score of 305.50.
 
In the 200-yard freestyle, Higley took home first with a time of 1:37.68 and James Clarke finished fourth with a time of 1:38.86.
 
Azad Al-barazi finished fifth in the 100-yard breastroke with a time of 55.50 and Patrick Kirland placed sixth with a time of 55.69. Lazar Bogdanovski finished fourth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 49.92 to finish the day.
 
The fourth and final day of the championships continue on Saturday at the CRWC Natatorium in Houston, Texas.
