Men’s Swimming & Diving Finishes Second At CUSA Championships

Day 4 Results

HOUSTON – The University of Hawai'i men's swimming and diving team finished in second place at the Conference USA Championships, which concluded Saturday at the CRWC Natatorium on the campus of the University of Houston.
 
It was the third year in a row the Rainbow Warriors have finished in second place. UH scored 833 points, its second highest point total since joining Conference USA in 2006.
 
UH's Douglas Cohen won the platform diving final, with a score of 327.55. Cohen finishes the championships with a first place and two second place finishes in the 1-meter and 2-meter. Thomas Rugg finished third with a score of 288.45 and Freddie Menzel finished fourth with a score of 239.05.
 
In the 100-yard freestyle, Davis Kane placed third with a time of 44.67 and Sean Reilly finished fourth in 44.85. Perry Sharify finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:01.48 and Luca Mazzurana finished third in the 200-yard butterfly with at time of 1:47.28.
 
UH finished second in the 400-yard freestyle relay, with the team of Sean Reilly, Mark Higley, Ilia Reyes and Davis Kane finishing in 2:57.25.
