Linsky Named Verizon Wireless WAC Pitcher Of The Week

DENVER – University of Hawai'i Rainbow baseball relief pitcher Lenny Linsky earned Verizon Wireless Western Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week honors for the week of Feb. 22-28.

Linsky, a sophomore from Palos Verdes, Calif. (Peninsula HS), made three appearances, earning three saves in UH's wins over No. 25 Oregon. Linsky started with a two-inning save, striking out three without giving up a run, hit or walk. He then allowed one hit in a one inning save before coming in to record the final two outs in the win. On the week, Linsky recorded three saves in 5.1 innings of work with five strike outs while giving up only one hit.

The sophomore recorded saves in three consecutive games in a weekend series, an accomplishment he is believed to be the first to do in Rainbow baseball history.

Hawai'i next hosts The Citadel for a four-game series starting Thursday, March 4, at 6:35 p.m., at Les Murakami Stadium.
