No. 47 Men’s Tennis Stopped By No. 71 UNLV

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The No. 47 University of Hawai`i men's tennis team began a four-match road trip with 6-1 loss at the hands of No. 71 UNLV Friday morning at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. The Rainbow Warriors dropped to 5-4 on the year with all four losses coming to ranked teams on the road.
 
Playing its fist dual match in a month, the Rainbow Warriors were no match for the Rebels who pulled off the upset by winning two of three doubles matches and five singles competitions, including four in straight sets.
 
Sophomore Leo Rosenberg picked up the team's lone point, dispatching Matthew Kunkel 6-4, 6-2 on the No. 4 court. Rosenberg improved his singles record to a perfect 8-0 in dual matches and improved to 12-3 overall this season. The duo of Dennis Lajola and Daniel Llarenas also were victorious, 8-6, over Attila Toth and Kaper Konyves in doubles.
 
UH remains in Las Vegas for three more matches, including a meeting with another ranked team in No. 70 Marquette on Saturday, March 6. First serve is at 10:00 a.m. PT (8:00 a.m. HT).
