SANTA BARBARA, Calif.—The University of Hawai`i women's tennis team lost its second straight road match with a 6-1 loss at UC Santa Barbara Wednesday afternoon. The Rainbow Wahine fell to 2-10 on the season.
UCSB (6-8) won the doubles point then five of six singles matches to claim the victory. For the second straight day, the score did little to reflect the effort by the Rainbow Wahine who dropped three pivotal matches in three sets.
Katarina Poljakova picked up UH's lone point with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 win over Jordan Dockendorf at court No. 3. UH lost the doubles point, however got a solid performance from the duo of
Alyssa Nafarrete and
Barbara Pinterova who defeated Jill Damion and Tova Hausman, 8-6.
Up next for the Rainbow Wahine is a match at No. 34 UNLV on Saturday, March 13. First serve is at 10:00 a.m. PT (8:00 HT). That match will conclude a stretch of 11 straight road matches for the Rainbow Wahine.
