Monika Eggens Named MPSF Mikasa Player Of The Week

WOODLAND, Calif. – University of Hawai'i sophomore attacker Monika Eggens was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Mikasa Player of the Week, following a 23-goal week for the Rainbow Wahine, announced today by the conference office.

Eggens combined for 23 goals in six games, recording at least three in each, as the Rainbow Wahine turned in a 6-0 week on the mainland.

Eggens recorded a hat trick in MPSF road wins at San Diego State and Arizona State. She had 27 goals entering the week, thus the additional 23 gives her 50 on the year, and atop the MPSF scoring chart.

This is the second career MPSF Player of the Week honor for Eggens, as she earned the first POW award in the first week of this season.

The Rainbow Wahine improved to 15-6 on the season and 3-2 in MPSF play following the road trip. UH will next face Stanford on April 11 at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex.
