Rainbow Sailors Turn It On At St. Francis Invitational

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i coed and women's sailing teams each had strong performances at the St. Francis Invitational, hosted by Stanford, April 3-4. The coed team finished second out of 28 teams in the regatta, while the Rainbow Wahine placed ninth overall and second among women's teams.

Cal Maritime won the regatta with a total of 90 points and the Rainbows were 14 points off the pace at 104. The Rainbow Wahine had a total of 203 points, with Stanford fielding the top women's squad with 168 points. A total of 18 races, nine in each the A and B divisions were completed over the weekend.

Sailing for the coed team were Tahnee Allman, Darla Baldwin, Zachary Hester and Will Petersen. Allman and Petersen captured the B division with a low of 37 points. Jaclyn McLoughlin, Hanne Nagatani, Lindsay Stewart and Hannah Tuson-Turner sailed for the Rainbow Wahine squad.

Up next for the coed team is the PCCSC Team Race Championships on April 10, while the Rainbow Wahine have the PCCSC Women's Championship on April 24-25. Both events will be hosted by Stanford.
