Men’s Tennis Washed Out Again

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team was closing in on another Western Athletic Conference win on Sunday but its match with Idaho went unfinished as rain forced a stoppage of play for the third straight day at the UH Tennis Complex.

After enduring numerous rain delays during the day, the Rainbow Warriors (8-6, 2-0 WAC) held a 3-0 lead against Idaho (18-7, 2-3 WAC) with singles wins at the top three courts by Dennis Lajola, Andreas Weber and Leo Rosenberg. UH was poised for the clinching fourth point as they were up a set on each of the other three courts. However, the weather would not allow the match to be completed. UH had its match vs. Utah State cancelled due to rain on Saturday, while their win over Fresno State also included a rain stoppage that lasted over night.

UH will now conclude its regular season schedule on the road with matches against New Mexico State (April 15) and Boise State (April 17) in Las Cruces, N.M.
