Meet Notes

NEW ORLEANS – University of Hawai'i high jumper Amber Kaufman was promoted back to The Bowerman Watch List announced Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Kaufman was initially selected to the first watch list update but slipped to the “Also Receiving Mention” category in the next two updates. The San Jose, Calif., native returns to the group as a result of a American- and collegiate-leading high jump mark of 6-3¼ (1.91m) at the Stanford Invitational. The mark is also the tied for the second-best in the world thus far in the 2010 outdoor season. Kaufman has cleared six feet in each completion so far this year, including the indoor season.

The Bowerman Advisory Board appointed four of its members to comprise The Bowerman Men's Watch Committee and another four of its members to make up The Bowerman Women's Watch Committee. The committee will release its next update on Wednesday, May 5. The three men and three women finalists will be named on July 13. Award winners will be announced at the USTFCCCA Annual Convention, held December 13-16 in San Antonio, Texas.
