Warrior Golf Opens U.S. Intercollegiate

Round 1 Results

PALO ALTO, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team carded a 314 in the first round of the U.S. Intercollegiate, Monday, at the Stanford Golf Course. Round 1, which was delayed Sunday due to heavy rains, was completed this afternoon.

Leading UH is sophomore #T.J. Kua# at four-over par (74). Kua sunk two birdies on the round and is currently tied for 36th place.

Also competing for the Warriors are sophomore Jared Sawada (77/T65th), freshman Daniel Koge (81/T91st), junior Kamden Brakel (82/T98th), and freshman Cory Oride (86/T106th).

Defending tournament champion, no. 3 Washington, leads the team field at one-over par (281), while John Chin of UC Irvine leads individually with his round of 66 (-4).

The second round teed off at 1:45 PST after a short rain delay. The weather is now cooperating and teams are hoping to finish Round 2 today, allowing them to conclude the tournament Tuesday with the third and final round.
