Tournament Notes
The University of Hawai'i men's golf team stays on the road to compete in the 64th Western Intercollegiate, April 17 and 18, at the Pasatiempo Golf Course in Santa Cruz, Calif.
The Western Intercollegiate is one of the longest running tournaments in college golf, played on one of the top courses in the country. This year's field includes 12 teams: UH, host San Jose State, Boise State, Idaho, Michigan State, New Mexico State, no. 4 Oregon, Oregon State, Pacific, Tulsa, UC Irvine, and no. 5 UCLA
Participants will play a total of 54 holes, 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday, competing on a par-70 course checking in at 6,615 yards.
In the 2008 Western Intercollegiate, UH took 14th place with a 915 total (302-310-303). Former Warrior Travis Toyama was the top-finisher, tying for 14th (73-77-72=222), while junior
Kamden Brakel tied for 75th (81-77-79-237).
