Trio Of Sailors Earn Conference Honors

IRVINE, Calif. – The Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference announced its coed all-conference teams with three University of Hawai`i sailors gaining mention. William Petersen and Darla Baldwin were named all-conference skipper and crew, respectively, while senior Ryan Wild earned the Mikey Murison Memorial Sportsmanship Award.

Petersen, Baldwin and Wild have all been instrumental sailors on a UH squad that has qualified for two of three events in the nationals so far this season. Two weeks ago, UH finished runner-up at the PCCSC Team Race Championship to qualify for the nationals in that event for the first time since 2005. Meanwhile, the Rainbows placed fourth in the PCCSC Dinghy Championship this past weekend to qualify for the ICSC National Semifinals.

The Rainbows will next travel to Charleston, S.C. for the ICSA National Semifinals, May 1-2.
