HONOLULU - The University of Hawai'i football team will host the “Warrior Bowl,” the team's final spring scrimmage Friday, April 30, at the Clarence T.C. Ching Field. An autograph session will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., with a practice and intrasquad scrimmage to follow at 7:00 p.m.
The format for the Warrior Bowl has changed this year. Beginning at 7:00 p.m., the Warriors will conduct warm-ups before playing in a controlled scrimmage which will include a set amount of plays and no clock. Teams will not be split, but instead the scrimmage will pit the offense versus the defense. The format will allow the coaches to work on situational plays and better assess the top units as spring practice comes to a close.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early as the UH softball and baseball teams host games at 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., respectively. The main entrance to Ching Field will be across from the UH Tennis Complex and through the big inflatable Warrior helmet. No outside food or drinks are allowed inside Ching Field.
In addition, tailgating and watching any of the events from the parking structure are prohibited due to safety concerns.
Bleacher seats hold approximately 800, so fans are encouraged to bring blankets, beach mats or sand chairs, which are allowed on the asphalt and grass areas. Standing on the track will be allowed. Smoking is prohibited inside Ching Field.
Sodexo concession stands will be open inside Ching Field and Rainbowtique will be selling UH merchandise.
From 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., members of the UH football team, including head coach Greg McMackin, will be available for autographs and photos. Fans are encouraged to bring their cameras and items they wish to have signed.
