Warrior Golf Heads To Las Vegas For WAC Championships

The University of Hawai'i men's golf team gets set to compete in the Western Athletic Conference Championships, May 3 through 5, at the Rio Secco Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This year's nine-team field includes host New Mexico State, Boise State, Fresno State, Hawai'i, Idaho, Louisiana Tech, Nevada, San Jose State, and Utah State.
 
Individuals will play a total of 54-holes, 18 holes each day, competing on a par-72 course checking in at 6,927 yards.
 
In last year's championship, the Warriors finished in ninth place with a 945 total (306-327-312). Sophomore #T.J. Kua# led UH, finishing tied for 22nd at 11-over par, and was one of only five players to eagle a hole. Other competing Warriors were junior Kamden Brakel who tied for 29th, sophomore Pono Calip finishing in 41st, and sophomore Jared Sawada who finished in 43rd place. 

New Mexico State is the defending tournament champion.
