Salas Named To NationalChamps.net 2010 Preseason All-America Team

University of Hawai'i slot receiver Greg Salas was selected to the NationalChamps.net Preseason All-America third team as a wide receiver. He was the only Warrior named to the list.

Last season, as one of the nation's top receivers, Salas was named to Phil Steele's All-America fourth team and honorable mention by SI.com. He was a first-team all-WAC and was selected to the watch list for the Fred Biletnikoff Award. The Chino, Calif., native finished fourth nationally in receiving yards per game (122.3) and sixth in receptions per game (8.15), both of which led the WAC.

He tallied 100-plus yards receiving in eight games and finished with a team-high 106 catches for 1,590 yards and eight touchdowns on the year. His 1,590 receiving yards was the second-highest single-season total in school history and was one of only four players to reach 100 catches in a season. Salas also set a new school record with 16 receptions against New Mexico State (Nov. 14) while also racking up a career-high 196 yards and a touchdown in the win over the Aggies. Dating back to his freshman season, has caught a pass in 27 straight games.

This year marks the 11th season NationalChamps.net has released an annual College Football Preview, complete with analysis, rankings, depth charts and unit grades.

Salas and the Warriors recently completed spring camp. UH's season-opener is against national powerhouse USC, Thursday, Sept. 2, at Aloha Stadium.
