Final Results
LOS ANGELES – In its final tune-up for the Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, the University of Hawai'i women's track and field team competed in the Occidental Invitational over the weekend.
Several Rainbow Wahine posted seasonal-best marks including
Thalia Amanakis in the 400-meter hurdles (59.63), which she placed third. Amanakis also competed in the 100-hurdles and placed fourth in a time of 14.11. Amanakis is a medal contender in both events at WAC Outdoor.
Ashlee Jimenez recorded a seasonal-best in the 400-meters (59.17) while
Ashley Aitken ran a seasonal-best time of 2:18.45 in the 800-meters.
Newcomer
Madara Apine easily won the triple jump competition after jumping (40-6/12.34m) while
TeRina Keenan was runner-up in the discus (167-1/50.92m).
The WAC Outdoor Championships runs Wednesday, May 12 through Saturday, May 15 in Ruston, La.
