STANFORD, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow baseball team will take a short break from WAC play, facing the Stanford Cardinal in a mid-week game at the Sunken Diamond on Tuesday, May 18, at 5:30 p.m. (2:30 p.m. HST).
The Rainbows are coming off a great week, taking three of four games from then-conference leading New Mexico State. The exciting weekend for UH including two extra inning victories with a walk-off single in the opener and a walk-off homer by Jeffrey Van Doornum in the second game of the doubleheader. Junior
Greg Garcia had a huge weekend, batting .636 to earn WAC Hitter of the Week honors, while
Sam Spangler posted a 13-strikeout victory, tying the most for a Rainbow in a single game in the past 15 years.
After the game at Stanford, Hawai'i will head down the 101 to San Jose to face San Jose State in their last series of the regular season, from May 21-23.
